Heparin Blood Collection Tubes are green-top anticoagulant tubes designed for rapid blood sample processing in clinical laboratory testing. Available with sodium heparin or lithium heparin, the tubes inhibit coagulation by interfering with thrombin formation and platelet aggregation, helping maintain anticoagulated blood samples for plasma-based analysis. They are commonly used for emergency clinical chemistry, hemorheology and electrolyte testing. With glass and PET options, 2–10 mL collection volumes and multiple tube dimensions, the range provides flexible choices for different laboratory workflows.
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Sodium / Lithium Heparin | Provides anticoagulation for plasma sample collection |
| Green Top | Easy visual identification of heparin tubes |
| Rapid Anticoagulation | Supports efficient sample preparation |
| Electrolyte Testing | Commonly used for electrolyte analysis |
| Emergency Chemistry | Suitable for rapid clinical chemistry workflows |
| Glass / PET Options | Flexible material selection |
| Multiple Volumes | Available from 2–10 mL |
Important: When testing sodium ions, sodium heparin should not be used because the sodium content may affect the test result. Lithium heparin can be selected according to the laboratory testing requirements.
It is commonly used for emergency clinical chemistry, electrolyte and hemorheology testing.
The product is available with sodium heparin and lithium heparin.
Green is used as the identifying cap color for the heparin tube configuration.
Sodium heparin should not be used for sodium ion testing, because it may affect the test result. The laboratory should select the appropriate anticoagulant according to the testing protocol.
The tubes are available in glass or PET, with 2–10 mL collection volumes and 13*75, 13*100 and 16*100 mm dimensions.
